About you

1 of 6

Use your institutional address. Everything about the course, including account setup, goes here.

If you are not in a lab, enter your department, program, or core facility.

What is your role?Required

Your setup

2 of 6
What operating system does the laptop you will bring run?Required

Everything runs in a browser on Foundry Connect, so any of these will work. We ask so setup instructions are written for the right mix, and so we can find a machine for anyone who needs one.

Which of these accounts do you already have?Required

Both accounts are required before the first session. Not having them yet is completely normal: request an HPC account here, and we will help you with Foundry Connect.

This lets us confirm your access works before the first session. Skip it if you do not have an account yet.

How comfortable are you with the command line?Required

There is genuinely no wrong answer. The quick start that opens Session 1 is built for the first option.

Your research

3 of 6
Which data types do you work with now, or expect to within the next year?Required

How you use AI today

4 of 6
Which AI tools do you currently use for work?Required

Select everything you have used in the last few months, even occasionally. There is no expectation that you use any of these.

How do you mainly use AI today?Required

Data and safety

5 of 6
Does your research involve human subject data?Required

We only need the category, so that Session 1 is pitched at the people in the room.

How confident are you about what is and is not safe to put into an AI tool?Required

Please answer honestly. Most people pick one of the last two.

Where you are starting

6 of 6
Before we start, how would you rate yourself on each of these?Required

This is a baseline, not a test, and low ratings are expected. We will ask these same six at the end so you can see your own progress.

How AI and LLMs work, and where they fail

Using AI assistants responsibly to work faster

Reading the statistics and figures behind genomics results

What bulk, single-cell, and spatial each measure, and when to use which

Running an analysis on Foundry Connect and interpreting the output

Protecting data, verifying claims, and keeping work reproducible

A tool you want to learn, a technique, an analysis you are stuck on, or anything we have not asked about.

Have you taken the Sequence Analysis Bootcamp or a similar course before?Required
